Problem
The existing gully system surrounding Wimbledon Centre Court, covering approximately 110 linear metres, was due for routine maintenance. While the gully system continued to function, upgrading it offered an opportunity to improve durability and ensure it could handle heavy rainfall efficiently. This proactive approach helped maintain reliable water management and protect the stadium’s impressive infrastructure for many years.
Solution
JH Specialist Roofing selected Restec’s FLEXITEC for its excellent adhesion, flexibility, and proven reliability in overlay applications. Materials were supplied by JJ Roofing Supplies in Isleworth to ensure timely delivery and smooth workflow. A special green resin was produced to match the iconic Wimbledon green, maintaining the stadium’s distinctive appearance. After preparing the substrate and applying primers where required, the team installed a fully reinforced waterproof membrane across the gullies. Careful attention was given to detailing around outlets and connection points, ensuring continuous, long-lasting protection throughout the entire gully system.
Result
Once installed, the roof was finished with insulation, paving stones, and slabs. The system was expertly applied, delivering a high-quality, long-lasting finish backed by Restec’s trusted Platinum System guarantee.
